I love the updates to categories. Definitely a step in the right direction.
🚩 Problem:
The biggest shortcoming I see with Rize is how long it takes to update categories and category rules.
Going into each day individually and editing them is tedious, and I'm very far behind adjusting historical categories because of this.
⚡️ Solution:
Take inspiration from transaction management apps like Mint, Quickbooks, Truebill, Monarch, etc.
  • Sort by time spent on a domain/app with the ability to filter categories - Ex. Filter miscellaneous category, sorted by minutes spent over the last month.
  • Multi-select many entries at once and bulk apply rules.
⚡️ Alternative Solution:
If this is all too complex, an easy and super helpful solution would be the ability to see all entries within a category for the whole month (vs. single day). Then sort by time spent on the domain. We could then ignore the smaller entries and focus on categorizing those we spend lots of time on.
