Task management ⚡️

Let's move Rize a step further to cover our entire productivity management. Add basic to-do features (simple 3 columns Kanban-style: Later-Today-Done) that allows us to add tasks in separate lists and schedule them. I know you'll think this from a different perspective than any other todo app out in the market. I mean the Rize way, a more focus oriented approach. For inspiration getslash.co is a great product to check.

Some kind of Zapier/ automation tool integration with a tool like Akiflow could make this happen perfectly fine imo.
- Get tasks from Akiflow (Akiflow gets and posts tasks to Linear, Notion, Asana etc)
- Press start in Rize on task.
- Post meta data from time spend on task and thus the project to the task description in Akiflow (update the taks description) or post the meta data directly into the task manager but that seems like a weird fork of the workflow.

After two years of making this feature request, I'm back with some clarifications. Due to opposing comments below, I noticed my suggestion caused some misunderstandings. In reality, I'm on the same side as those concerned about turning Rize into a task management tool.
What I was referencing is a feature that enables simple to-do lists (micro tasks under categories like today, tomorrow, this week, later) where I can track my time on each task. I believe this isn’t bloat, nor does it redirect Rize’s main focus.
I don’t expect, nor do I support, making Rize a Jira/Asana/Todoist/etc. alternative. I just want to pick a planned task from a to-do list and start DOING it, which basically means starting a time counter. So, the Rize Widget can display my ongoing task with its timer constantly, reminding me that I am working on a specific task right now—this simple trick creates enough pressure to avoid any type of distraction during that period.
Activities are the foundation of Rize and its most important feature. Currently, we can assign projects to activities after the activity is finished. Why not match activities with our tasks beforehand? This way, Rize can create more value by making its time tracking more granular.
I hope this clarifies my main intention behind this feature request. (:

I think RIZE should focus on keeping people productive on what task management apps they currently use? And focus more on tracking time usage, not tracking tasks. Well you can say they're related, but there's a fine line that separates the two.
Maybe more integrations to other platforms would be better - where it knows you ticked of a task in todoist, and ticked off a task in Google Tasks.
This then shows up as activities to be categorize.

Instead of task management, it could be more a integration or connection with other tools like Notion, jira or other? That way we are not bloated by to many features all working good, noun working great. If they can connect in some way it would be great because you can use the apps you already rely on and add this one to the toolbox. 👌🏼

Please don't :D I really think that feature-bloating this awesome app isn't a great idea. It won't replace ClickUp, nor Jira, nor Todoist (which all I use in different contexts) and it would only make the app messy. But that's just my feeling.

Norbert Kaźmierczak: I'm with you. huge NO.

Norbert Kaźmierczak: If it is implemented wisely, I don't think it'd create bloat. We already log our projects, why not adding tasks for these projects?

Kerem Yeah, well I kinda think the current task feature, isn't very useful yet. Instead of tracking tasks, it should track tasks you do on other platforms so it can give you insights.

I would really use this feature, it fits really well into my workflow. I take a bunch of notes and separate them by status in a Notion database, that way I make sure that I never forget anything. I try to keep that list as small as I can, and make sure to review it often. If anyone tells me anything that I have to do later, I would put it there. Notion is great, but if I had a kanban board or a way to filter notes by status in Rize, I would definitely switch over to it.
I do add extra custom properties to the pages in Notion so I can keep the tasks or PR links in there. I don’t know if it’s too out of scope for Rize but I hope my opinion is helpful anyways.

Great suggestion! 👍
